I have the opposite problem, My line sticks out too far and needs to be reduced

Food for thought. Instead of pouring all the concrete in all at once, divide it into to two with water in between. I’ve pulled many a dry pour post and have found dry uncured concrete at the bottom. Quick Crete is good but lacks the adhesion to the post that regular concrete delivers. Not so important with a mailbox or fence post, but a retaining wall is a different story.

Kind Sir, you did a good job showing us; what can cause leaking in faucets. The "gasket and the packing". But you missed a very common problem that does it too. IE: The "gasket" is stopped by a part called "the SEAT". And it takes a special "Tool" to get it out and put in. So, AFTER you remove the entire "STEM", the seat is still in the pipe. And it goes bad. For what it's worth.

I would have changed the tailpipe to get it (closer) to to the 1 1/2 p-trap and use the reducer washer on top of the 1 1/2 p-trap..

Thanks. Although I have done this job several times ... it was great to have your video because I was able to make a list of the items I needed to buy or pull out of my workshop. I will now place all of these items into a wheelbarrow and get started on replacing an older mailbox that was hit by a farmer's tractor.

The pipes being slightly different sizes does not increase odds of paper or whatnot causing a blockage? Do you not sand/ clean the cast before installing the fernco? I have a toilet drain that a guy used a fernco on that had a slight leak when toilet is flushed at the fernco end on the cast iron. I also noticed a very slight leak where I ran pvc drain for the tub/shower to old cast. Maybe I can tighten that one. That being said, I feel the rough old cast is keeping the fernco from sealing properly. If I remember correctly, some of the cast had a pretty noticeable seam in it too.

Cool! Helpful tips!

Several comments and question, if I may. I am, currently, cutting out out subfloor for a 11'x20' game room. I never pull backwards on a circular saw even a little. I never sit/stand directly behind it and finally I use front of saw to anchor when plunge cutting. Which way is best or safest? Or not much difference?

The tape needs to be wrapped around the receptacle a few times to secure it from pealing off over time. There is some concern that the sides are not fully protected.

Do you have a specific reason to install the hinges 7 inches from the top and 11 from the bottom?

Thank you for the video: what about a pipe to the wall which is glued on? I can't see the pipe at wall (covered by a plumber by a metal piece with compression fittings? There appears to be a reducing pipe going to the wall. (Wish I could attach photo!)

They make mounting plates now. No need for the mounting wood slab now.
